Private tour for 2 food lovers including Cairo and the pyramids, Aswan with Abu Simbel, a magical ride down the Nile River to Luxor, and special culinary touches along the way. 


Day 1 
Arrival to Cairo (D)

Take your international flight to Cairo, Egypt. Reception at the airport and assistance with visa and arrival procedures. Then enjoy a private transfer to your hotel. Welcome dinner arranged for you tonight at the hotel. Rest and prepare to explore the city tomorrow!

Day 2 
Cairo and the pyramids (B, L, D)

After Breakfast meet with your private guide to explore the highlights. Visit to Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx, one of the great Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Go off the beaten path with your guide, ride camels beneath the pyramids, and dedicate as much time to this sacred site as needed. Then go to Memphis, the first capital of the ancient Egyptians, to visit Sakkara where you can find the first pyramid ever built in Egypt. A typical lunch arranged at Saqqara restaurant nearby the pyramid. 
Return to your hotel and freshen up before dinner aboard Le Pacha 1901.
Day 3
Cairo City (B, L, D)

Today after breakfast, meet with your guide again and we will go for a full day tour of Cairo. Starting the day with a morning visit to the Egyptian Museum - home of the magnificent ancient Egyptian antiquities from different periods throughout ancient history. The magnificent treasure of King Tutankhamen, whose tomb was recently discovered in 1922 by Howard Carter, had been moved to this museum along with his famous 11 kg mask of gold.

After the museum, we head to the Citadel to see the once glorious medieval fortification, as well as the Mosque of Mohamed Ali. Lunch included at Andrea restaurant.

To complete the day, head to the famous Khan-el-Khalili Bazaar for a bit of bartering and exploring, followed by a traditional tea. 

Tonight, dinner at the revolving restaurant at the top of Grand Nile Tower hotel.


Day 4 
Cairo - Aswan (B, L)

After Breakfast transfer to Cairo Airport for a short flight to Aswan. Reception and  transfer to your hotel. After settling in, we will start our tour to the Nubian village by motor boat. Here we will taste the experience at a local Nubian family home. Enjoy a casual cooking class and learn how to make a traditional Nubian meal. After the cooking presentation, enjoy lunch. 
On the way back to your hotel, we stop at the Old Cataract Hotel for a traditional tea. Then return to hotel to rest and enjoy the amenities. Dinner on your own.

Day 5
Aswan - Abu Simbel - Nile River Cruise (B, L, D)

Early this morning, enjoy breakfast, then head out with your guide for a 3 hour drive to Abu Simbel. Spend the first half of the day visiting the glorious temples before returning to the Aswan cruise dock. Board your Nile River cruise and check into your cabin. A private guide will accompany you for the duration of the cruise, so that all the daily activities are done privately and at your pace. A lunch will be on board, and dinner tonight.

Day 6 
Nile River Cruise (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we get off the boat and start sightseeing at the High Dam, Philae Temple and unfinished Obelisk. Lunch on board, then afternoon Sail to KomOmbo, where we will visit the Temple shared by two gods Sobek and Haeroris in KomOmbo. Then the cruise sails to Edfu, where we will visit Edfu Temple. Tea Time and dinner on board while we sail to Luxor. Tonight, Egyptian Galabeya event onboard. 

Day 7 
Nile River Cruise (B, L, D)

After breakfast, we get off the boat and visit the East Bank (Karnak and Luxor Temples). Lunch on board with a free afternoon. Dinner on board.
Tonight, join your guide for a visit to the temples after dark, beautifully lit up.


Day 8 
Luxor-Cairo (B, L)

Before sunrise, enjoy a magical hot air balloon over the valley of kings & queens. Return to the boat for breakfast on board and Disembarkation. With your guide, visit the West Bank, valley of the Kings and Queens, the temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El-Deir El-Bahari, and the Colossi Memnon.

Lunch in Luxor’s Restaurant Peace abu Zaid. Then transfer to Luxor airport for a short flight to Cairo. Reception and transfer to hotel.

Day 9
Cairo (B, L, D)

After Breakfast, visit the Red Pyramid. Also called the North Pyramid, is the largest of the three major pyramids located at the Dahshur necropolis in Cairo, Egypt. Named for the rusty reddish hue of its red limestone stones, it is also believed to be Egypt's first successful attempt at constructing a "true" smooth-sided pyramid. Local residents refer to the Red Pyramid as el-heram el-watwaat, meaning the Bat Pyramid.

Then we will continue our tour to the old Coptic part in Cairo where we can see the old Coptic churches. The Hanging Church is named for its location above a gatehouse of Babylon Fortress, the Roman fortress in Coptic Cairo (Old Cairo); its nave is suspended over a passage. The church is approached by twenty-nine steps; early travelers to Cairo dubbed it the Staircase Church. Then we will go to have our lunch in a local restaurant nearby.
After lunch, visit the Ben Ezra Synagogue which is situated in Old Cairo, Egypt. It was originally named El-Shamieen Church, and is situated behind the "hanging church". The Synagogue once had an old copy of the Old Testament, and it was said that Ezra the Prophet (Al-Azir) had written it. It is believed that the site of the Synagogue where the box of Baby Moses was found. 
In the evening transfer to a local Egyptian family’s home and enjoy a typical meal. If you would like, participate in the cooking process, and learn the secrets of traditional Egyptian flavors. You will find them much different from the Nubian food earlier on the trip. Follow dinner with oriental desserts before returning to your hotel. 
Day 10
Cairo - Home (B)

After Breakfast transfer to Cairo airport for your flight out. Late check out at the hotel is not guaranteed, but can be requested.
